Nordic Pole Walking and Osteoarthritis

This workshop is designed to introduce Nordic pole walking to individuals with osteoarthritis (OA) as a strategy to maintain or increase activity. Benefits of pole walking for people with OA may include:
-being able to walk more comfortably and for further distances
-better posture
-using more muscle groups which burns more calories
In addition to pole walking, this workshop introduces activities such as deep breathing, relaxation, stretching and chair yoga to individuals with OA. These activities promote body awareness and give individuals with OA strategies for addressing tension and stress in their own body so that they can keep active. Techniques are taught at a basic level with a focus on take-home activities that can be used immediately. Pre-register for this FREE workshop.
